Al Capone Does My Shirts, by Gennifer Choldenko

This is a literature circle book that students read in class. It seems pretty cool, with the idea of one of the country's biggest gangsters of all time doing this kid's laundry. This book is on my list of books to read.

  1. I read Al Capone does my shirts by Gennifer Choldenko. Its about a kid named moose, who lives on Alcatraz island because his dad is a guard. Moose has a little sister named Natalie who has to get in a special school. but she doesn't get in. Moose feels bad so he asks Al Capone, the toughest criminal for help. Will Al help? You'll have to read the book to find out.

The genre of the book is realistic fiction, because it could really happen. I liked the book because it was entertaining and funny.

I like the book, but I thought some parts were boring. I like the ending but I wish they had explained it more. It was good, just kind of confusing. I would give the book three stars. :)
