The following are books that I have read and recommend for middle school students. A growing list of books is on the right, titled "Book List," and each new post will feature a specific book or series of books that I will elaborate on. Visitors can post their thoughts on books I recommend as well, and they can also contribute to the recommended book list page. Enjoy!

The Big Field, by Mike Lupica
The Big Field, by Mike Lupica, is a book that students read during literature circles. I have read a handful of book by this author, and he definitely is one of my favorites for this age group. If you like baseball, the Yankees, and/or playing shortstop, this might be the perfect book for you!

I am reading The Big Field by Mike Lupica
ReplyDeleteIt is about a guy named Hutch and his baseball team the Cardinals. Hutch’s dream is to win the baseball series and go to Roger Dean field (The Big Field). It is his dream to go to Baseball College.
The genre of this book is realistic fiction. I liked it because I enjoy sports books. It is also very competitive and exciting. The last reason I liked this book is because I read a bunch of Mike Lupica books, and like them.
If I had to rate this book it would be a five. It would be a five because I like exciting books and this book was very funny, exciting and nail-biting.

My book The Big Field by Mike Lupica is a good book.
ReplyDeleteHutch Hutchinson is on a baseball team with his best friend Cody. Hutch plays second base and Cody plays outfield. A kid Darryl joins the team and Hutch get’s jealous. Hutch wants to play Darryl’s position. This realistic-fiction book is a good book.
I sort of like this book because I liked the baseball idea and the settings and stuff but it would be confusing at some parts to me. Like they would be at a game and then all of a sudden they were at home. That was my perspective of it but I don’t know about anyone else.
I rate this book 3 ½ stars because it wasn’t the best book but it was O.K.
